About the author

Daniel Koeker was born in October of 1989 in California, and currently resides in Riverside. He is primarily an author of science fiction and fantasy novels aimed at young adult readers. His current books include Guardians and Dark Beginnings, Petals of Intrigue and The Dream Sanctum with more to come.

He attended Martin Luther King High School and graduated in 2007 at age 17. During his four years he took part in the Honors and AP programs, and wrote for the school newspaper. He transferred to Riverside Community College, where he pursued English, Psychology and Politics for two years before pursuing other ventures, such as his writing and work.

Daniel writes plays, poems, short stories and full-length novels, predominately science fiction and fantasy, but has experimented with a number of other genres as well. He wrote for the opinion section of the high school newspaper, and also wrote news and editorials for the online publication of an artistic community.

Currently, Daniel is a writer and editor. He is one of the owners of Manuscript Magic, a company dedicated to assisting writers prepare their book for publishing, and is also a political and news commentator for Gather, occasionally posting his works on Daily Kos. For hobbies, Daniel likes composing music, photography and gaming. He shares a deep affinity for chocolate with his fiancee (who also writes), and thoroughly enjoys talking about himself in the third person.
