I'm no fan of bandwagons. I'd like to think that, political and religious affiliations aside, my ideology of life is logic. It's helped me out rather well so far; add to that a rather laid-back approach to life, and you'll often see me debating what looks like both sides to the same debate. This is nothing more than me simply responding to the herp derp that seems to, inevitably, take place on both sides. If you live in the United States of America and you watch the news, you are probably aware of two distinct, yet very related, things. One, this country is a Christian nation, founded on Christian principles by Christian founding fathers and Christian Christian Christian Christians. You will also be aware that Christianity is under attack. Atheists who are doing that not-believing-in-god thing all over the internet and in real life; governments enforcing a thing called the separation of church and state (what on earth is that anyway?); people of Christian faith who are being persecuted for their beliefs. I was watching a video recently by a gamer I subscribe to on YouTube (for those who know him, it's TotalBiscuit). He was talking about the difference between objectivity and subjectivity and how many people don't seem to understand the difference between the two anymore. His point was that a lot of people can't simply disagree anymore, and some people take serious offense when not everyone agrees with them. In this case it was when a game reviewer like himself spoke unfavorably about a game that people happened to like, and they would get seriously offended. Continue...

I don't like resolutions for the new year. At all. To me it always seemed like a way of saying, 'I know there are things I can do to improve my life now, but for some reason I'm going to wait months and months to even try to start.' Life is too short for that type of outlook, especially when you're going to fail most of them anyway and then have to wait the entire year to start them over again. We impose upon ourselves an arbitrary day where everything begins, and we put more emphasis on making them sound good than following through. Anyone who's ever tried to get a gym membership will know what I mean (but the two times you went were worth it I'm sure). Continue...
